The art profiling people for Leadership, Supervisor, and Management in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Logan

Handling Difficult People + Human Factors

This course will deliver an understanding of WHY people are difficult and what constitutes difficult for you. We all have strengths and weaknesses as well as good and bad sides to our personalities. Although our good and bad behaviours appear as opposites, they are actually complementary and mutually dependent. A good example; is optimism and pessimism, opposites in meaning and behaviours, however we often switch from one to the other or even blend them together. Download flyer

Answer this:

Are you dealing with people or employees who:

  • You just don’t get along and don’t know why
  • Have frustrations with miscommunication
  • Have distrust within their work teams
  • Are continually in conflict with each other

If you answered yes to the above questions or just looking to improve the way you communicate with people this course will provide some answers. In my opinion, we are all difficult people at times, we all have our moments where we impede the actions of others. We get short at times especially in times of stress, so by understanding human factors you begin to learn how to recognise the naturally different temperaments of people (human factors).

There is a misconception that difficult people are always aggressive, abusive and loudmouths’! True, these behaviours are difficult to cope with, but they are not the only difficult behavioural set. People, who are passive also, consume energy by avoiding conflict, withholding information, deferring decisions, avoiding responsibility, and seeking sympathy. Remember, being passive does not mean inactivity, if a person displays passive-aggressive behaviour, they may resort to sabotage or back-stabbing behaviours to exert influence and you will never see it coming!

This is the only course in Managing Difficult People, integrating ‘Human Factors’, providing simple and practical tools to deal with the difficult ones!
Difficult people are takers:

  • they want to take others down to their emotional level.
  • they are extremely self-centred and want others to support their behaviours.
  • they want others to feel their anger if they are angry.
  • if they are whining, they want others to sympathise with them and whine with them.

Understanding a person’s values that drive their behaviour, can help you management their behaviour in a more positive manner.

For Managers and Supervisors this training will enable you to understand and use ‘Human Factors’ in leadership and developing teamwork, by learning WHY employees behave the way they do: - by learning how to ‘read’ the unique personality of staff members, peers and more senior colleagues, and then using this knowledge to create a more effective management approach. From this training course Managers / Supervisors will gain the tools to deal with ‘difficult’ staff members that others shy away from!

Understanding ‘Human Factors’, is the element Leadership and Management Training Courses are missing, Human Factors explains WHY instead of just HOW.
